I was thinking about April showers bringing May flowers so I searched online for flowery goodness.

The Earth's Many Gifts

Happy Earth Day, a day late...one more thing to love about nature:

I couldn't believe that these beauties were just at the end of my drive. I stood there for half an hour just watching them play, romp, stare at me in wonder, be curious, and act like little kittens. Baby fox! I felt so touched by the beauty and the powerful force of nature on my emotions. I held back tears. Amazing. Happy Earth Day again.

Not Just Any Tuesday

This is Ellie's first spring.

Everything is so fresh and new to her. She's a very curious little explorer.

Her wonder has opened my eyes a little more.

She stares at the movements of a worm, so I try not to dislike them so much.

She touches her little paws to the bark of a tree and I see its texture again.

She tilts her head at a squirrel and I wish I knew more about animal communication.

And when she sticks her nose inside the tiniest yellow flower, I melt.

How did I go so long without a puppy, without Ellie? ♥

At My Reading Table

Well, I am thrilled to have a week's vacation, but with my luck as it is,

I landed a flu/cold on the very first day.

So, while recovering, here is the wonderful book I am reading.

It's another historical fiction novel, which I find myself attracted to lately...so unlike me! Embroidery is behind the story...very intriguing.

Almost There...

I love to teach, but I must say that I am looking forward to having my spring vacation next week.

Aaah, a week to catch up,
read, relax with mugs of hot coffee,

and to create!

Spring Goodness

While I haven't been especially good at spring cleaning yet, I have taken lots of walks in the warmer air and sunshine, breathed deeply, smiled, and made some springtime inspired new fabric goodies for PaperPumpkin.

Some Spring

I believe that snow said goodbye yesterday, for the last time. I think spring is guaranteed now as those flakes disappeared and the sun is shining brightly today. It feels so good.

I've been enjoying Easter all week! Here are some eggs that Mia dyed for our Easter Dinner last Sunday. She used vintage silk ties. Aren't they gorgeous? Very creative, and she said that they were easy and fun to make!

April Journaling

My art journaling relaxes me and makes me feel really happy. I smile to myself when I am in my PaperPumpkin room, creating. How wonderful it is to have a small, private, happy space in the world.
