Summer of Color Week3

I haven't had too many words to speak lately...
instead, I am reading Awakened by Angela Watson
and am reflecting on my teaching
this past year.

This morning,
I did what I have dreamed about doing
all winter:
I sat on my cool back porch
with my morning coffee.
I let summertime slip in.
I absorbed the beauty of the flowers
and the quiet
of my favorite time of the day.
Now that's bliss.

This is inspired by Kristin's SOC4,
week three's colors of
gray & lavender,
with a POP of plum.

Thank you sweet Kristin!

One More Week...

...til I get a break!

I never want to wish time to go faster,
and
I love being an educator
(second grade is wonderful),
but this teacher is exhausted
and needs
more chillin
&'
Nani Time with Baby Andi!

This painted background is teal and coral with
some POPS of white
for Kristin's Summer of Color 2014
(SOC4) week #2...
but my teal looks too blue here.
My camera really doesn't do blue-greens very well,
and, I did take this photo toward evening...

oh well.

 Do check out Kristin's wonderful
Summer of Color
 and join in.
The badge is up top!

Thank you for visiting!

Journaling with Aqua, Yellow, and a POP of Pink!

Participating in Kristin's
4th year of Summer of Color,
SOC4!
(You can join in using the badge on the top!)

This first challenge
is to create anything using
the two colors: aqua and yellow,
with a POP of hot pink!

Birds keep finding me
so I am going with it.

{I used Caran d' Ache
Neoart Aquarelle water-soluable wax Pastels
and some water on a paintbrush...
then an aqua fine point Sharpie pen for the writing.}

Thank you, Kristin!

Hello

Layers of gesso,
scrapings of paint, stampings of ink,
writing of thoughts...

...slowly done over the days
and into another week
as I push
through
the school year's end...

I am hopeful.

Hello to you!
I have been around a bit
but have missed you too.
