Goodbye March

March went so quickly, but I love when it ends and spring is guaranteed to stay. I am loving the longer days. The added sunlight invites me to do more art journaling.

Snips and Rips and Sticky

Few things are more simple and fun than getting a package in the mail, right?! I think one of my goals for this summer is to send out more cards and fun packages to my friends and family so they can get happy at the mailbox too. Anyway, I got my mail and look what came!

I've been collecting a couple of rolls at a time of this amazingly gorgeously, fun tape, but I ordered a few more last weekend because I couldn't resist the free shipping...and well, my paper-fabric-journal-book-sticker obsession has spread to tapes. It's a necessity for art journaling at the moment and I don't want to be caught unprepared, afterall.

I'm not going away on any vacations this year, so...this is my favorite getaway. Aaah. ♥

Love of Books and Vintage

Sorting and cleaning can have its benefits, other than the obvious. Look at this wonderful, old, honey colored volume I found in the deep recesses of my old house! It motivated me to create some honey bee tags with pretty yellow ribbons...and to read more about bees.

I've developed a respect and admiration for bees since loving the novel,
"The Secret Life of Bees".

Wearin' o' the Green

This is part of the gorgeous shamrock plant that Michael got from his Mom. I just love the bright, fresh, springtime feeling it gives me. I share it with you, and wish you a very Happy,
Lucky,
St. Patrick's Day!
I will be wearing green and pretending to be Irish. What will you do to celebrate?

Some Art Journaling Time

It's amazing to me that I can feel so much better inside when I get some quiet time and some time to do journaling.

I craved silence and alone time for two weeks now, and today...I have a few hours to myself -even the puppy sleeps!

My sweet friend, lori, makes incredible journals with the most beautiful covers and 'in-between' pages I've ever seen. I love to see what's new in her shop, elviestudio.

Here are a few glimpses inside my journal.

It feels so good to create and to get my thoughts out.

Birthday Cakes and Birthday Wishes!

We celebrated hubby Michael's birthday yesterday, and my future son-in-law's. I got the opportunity to bake and frost and spend some fun time with family and friends! And, since Michael is the perpetual snowman maker in the family, here's his cake:

Happy birthday March babies! Eat cake and may all your wishes come true!

Embracing Winter

It was so incredibly beautiful out today. The sun was bright and the sky was so blue.
I had fun playing with my camera.

These red branches surprised me!
How can branches be red, and why have I never seen them before?

I felt like I was trekking through glaciers.
The icy snow would melt in patterns, facing the sun.
It felt wonderful just to be outdoors in the fresh air.
I enjoyed winter today.
Better late than never, I guess!

Coordinating Fabrics and Papers

I just love when beautiful fabrics come out, with the same print as my favorite cardstocks and papers! I found a bunch of these matches, and will be listing new sets and separates. The spring colors and florals and butterflies are so wonderful to see!

As the evenings get longer and the sun starts to shine more often, my spirits soar with these flutterbys! Happy March everyone! And happy creating! ~Kathy

More Fabulous Fabrics and Pretty Papers

♥ It's extra fun when you sort
and rediscover some folded goodness
that has been waiting for you.
How could I have made these sweeties wait so long?
They remind me of the dresses Grama K. would sew
for my "twin cousin" and me when we were little.
Then she would use the scraps to make quilts.
♥ Happy New-Week everyone! Isn't it strange not to have the Olympics on??
