Nurturing My Self

I find myself struggling to hold onto a
fleeting
summer vacation
by photographing the beauty in each of my days
and journaling it.

Permanent records
of something
only permanent
in my Self.

Though born in the winter,
I am summer.

And what a beautiful way to collect those memories.

I was born in the summer, but love the fall. Although I especially loved the beach this year.

Everyone seems to be rushing so fast...into Fall...into Halloween and onward. It is refreshing to see you embrace every moment of Summer and capture it in your journal. I was born in Summer and I L.O.V.E. Summer. I want August to last every minute it can. Wonderful Weekend Dear...

Oh yes embrace all of it Kathy... having just come back from the best week of warm sunshine and beach walks to cold, bleak and rainy days... I know exactly what you are saying... love that you are documenting your days... you have inspired me to do that too...

I was born in the tropics, but I still love Fall!. LOL. Beautiful chevron background, and it's neat that you scribbled along them :). Thanks for sharing with us art journal from your vacation days.

Sunflowers are my favorite flowers. They are not delicate and feminine. They are bold, a little ungraceful but full of life and wonder.

This post helps me as summer is ending. I can't decide if I like the summer when my kids are here and I have no time to exercise or paint really or the school year when i will have the time, but, it will be rush, rush, rush. Now that I wrote that, I like the summer better!
