I've been finding lately,
that I do not seem to be writing
and journaling as much as I used to.
Do you remember a couple of weeks ago,
I told you that a close friend passed away?
Well, just a few days ago, I stumbled
upon an old writing journal of mine...
...and in it was a four-page entry I had written
about the day I met her.
She was the mom of an old friend of mine.
I was so struck by her.
She was a second mom to me.
But, I was surprised, as I read these words I'd written years ago,
by how much I had forgotten.
The details.
My memory isn't as wonderful as I'd like,
but thank goodness I wrote...
and that I continue to write.
Everything happens for a reason.
I believe this.
I was meant to stumble upon these old four pages...
perhaps a message for Mother's day...
and as a reminder to me
to keep on writing.
Words.
Beauty.
memories.
Cherish.
Love.
Words.
Beauty.
Art.
Create.
Record.
Remember.
Feel.

Sweet girl . . . so glad you are reminded to keep writing, for your words are such encouragement to others! We need to keep being inspired by YOU! I love how you re-discovered your journal page about your friend, what a comfort for you now! Loss is hard and we must take all the time we need to process and walk through it. Sending you love and blessings!
What a perfectly timed gift you received, Kathy:)
You open your heart
so well.
I believe beautiful things
are headed your way, friend.
And I love your words
so thick and ripe with life.
Your writing and journaling mean so
very much to me.
love and happy mother's day,
Jennifer
I really love the meaning you put into this post Kathy, it's so true, especially in such a digital age, how special handwritten memories (and old photographs) really are. I bet your lost friend was just trying to show you that she is still with you, when you found those pages... so special. ♥
Love and art - never too far behind one another. I too that things happen for a reason - and I LOVE this story of "happenstance" - I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! xoxo
I believe too that you were meant to stumble on the pages at that exact time.
