You know what they say...

When life gives you lemons...

...make lemonade.

My husband looked out the window

at the driving snow

and chilling ice

slushing down,

and turned on Christmas Carols.

It's white out.

But, hey, it could be a lot worse.

My observation is over!

I still get so nervous.

My hands shook.

Balance :: Journaling

I feel such gratitude

for the teachings

of wise people,

unexpected smiles,

and music.

Do you know the "Avett Brothers"?

I listen to their CD called 

"I and Love and You"

everyday in the car.

Love it.

What do you love to listen to?

Tomorrow is my formal observation

in my second grade classroom.

I get anticipatory anxiety

in a BIG way.

Please, think of me and send me

relaxing, positive thoughts, okay?

I just need it to be over with!

I was driving past a church I always pass

on my way home,

but today the sign outside

wasn't quite as holy as usual.

It made me laugh right out loud:

"Praying for snow?

Stop it."

hahaha

Holding On...

Releasing into my journal

another looong week of eleven-hour

workdays inside

and

gray, snowy, blowy winter

days outside where I don't belong.

I am grateful for

my family, my friends(you),

and my journaling time,

however short.

This is how I nurture my Self.

It's important to nurture yourself.

C'mon Spring!

Feeling the crunch of coldness

and eagerly awaiting warmth.

Daylight savings time is great in the evening

but in the mornings again, ack!

Okay, I need sun on my skin.

I need to feel not cold.

I'm sick of snow.

Get it?

14 inches of snow fell last Wednesday.

Just sayin'

Of Cities and Flying :: Journal Collage

I never really liked flying

but we flew to New Hampshire

and Boston this weekend.

It didn't bother me at all to fly.

No fear this time.

That was really nice.

We saw the Avett Brothers in concert, too.

I do like to get away to a city 

every now and then.

Thinking, Sketching, Journaling

After another long workday,

I came home to an empty house,

relished in the silence,

and sat with my pencils and journal.

My thoughts are peaceful

again.

March? Really?

Honestly, it was a crazy week.

And, I really have a lot of housework

to catch up on

because I just wasn't home...!

..but I feel such an overwhelming

thankfulness

that my Self

is different than the chaos

on this earth.

There was a lot of wonderfulness

in this crazy week,

but this girl is exhausted!

I plan on housecleaning,

power walking,

reading,

grading papers,

eating lots of fruit,

art journaling (!),

and cuddling Andi

and my little dog, Ellie!
