Sketching

...in my art journal.

I've been anticipating this downtime between Christmas and New Year's when I could fully relax and create again.

I actually have been dreaming of drawing faces...

Peace to you,

March? Really?

Honestly, it was a crazy week.
And, I really have a lot of housework
to catch up on
because I just wasn't home...!

..but I feel such an overwhelming
thankfulness
that my Self
is different than the chaos
on this earth.

...journal spread in progress...

There was a lot of wonderfulness
in this crazy week,
but this girl is exhausted!

I plan on housecleaning,
power walking,
reading,
grading papers,
eating lots of fruit,
art journaling (!),
and cuddling Andi
and my little dog, Ellie!

What are your plans for this weekend?!

A Sketch...and Summer of Color3 Week #4!

Kristin's Summer of Color SOC3 is already into week #4!

This week's color combination is
Charcoal Gray and Pink.

I have been wanting to practice drawing, drawing, drawing
and sketching faces.
Here, I wanted to try my hand at sketching a face at an angle,
for interest and a change.

I took a piece of pretty pink background paper, and my pencils...
and here is what's going on so far.

I say "so far" because I may do more with it,
such as glue it in my art journal... write on it,
add to itYou know...

Have a creative day!

Lily of the Valley!

They're here and the scent is overwhelming.

They always amaze and thrill me, every spring.

They remind me of my Grama, too.
She had solid perfume with this scent.

Little tiny fun bells, with a scent that carries for acres.

Me and my laryngitis sat outside for an hour in the sun.

I found them a bit difficult to draw
but I had a great time.

Wishing you all a wonderful
sweetly scented
weekend!

Drawing...and Drawing

After devouring beauty and drawings
from Danny Gregory's book, Everyday Matters,
I quickly began The Creative License
My first assignment: Draw a chair,
 a mug,
a table (oops, sorry, I didn't want to),
and draw a person.

This was really, really fun!

I highly recommend Mr. Gregory's books...

What took me so long to discover him?

I used to draw all the time
when I was in high school. Hours everyday.
I need to find my old portfolio...somewhere in the rubble.

So, my next assignment includes drawing
every day.

I may move out of my art journal
and into
a Moleskein
sketchpad.

Oooooh.
I think I'm in love.

Always,
~k
