Embracing Winter

It was so incredibly beautiful out today. The sun was bright and the sky was so blue.
I had fun playing with my camera.

These red branches surprised me!
How can branches be red, and why have I never seen them before?

I felt like I was trekking through glaciers.
The icy snow would melt in patterns, facing the sun.
It felt wonderful just to be outdoors in the fresh air.
I enjoyed winter today.
Better late than never, I guess!

Are You Kidding?

Did I hear the weatherman correctly? Will I see snowflakes tonight? Or tomorrow morning? Already? Isn't October supposed to be sweatshirt weather and sun-on-golden-leaves weather?

I am crossing my WNY cold fingers & toes in hopes that this is a prank and we really will have autumn...not winter...not yet. Please.

This photo was taken 3 years ago in October. Do you remember the now infamous "October Surprise" storm that cut off power for days and weeks here? This was taken from my upstairs window the morning after it hit.

Enjoy your fall everyone! ~Kathy
