Sketching

...in my art journal.

I've been anticipating this downtime between Christmas and New Year's when I could fully relax and create again.

I actually have been dreaming of drawing faces...

Peace to you,

Just Do It.

Some decisions in life are difficult
so I am remembering
to take my own
advice:

Don't stumble on rocks that are behind you.

Ask for true guidance.
Take the leap of faith.

Trust.

Then, don't look back.

 ...

The temperature is 6 degrees F
and dropping.

No, I don't want to go outside!
I am going to snuggle under a blanket,
watch the hockey game on TV,
and read.

(No new baby yet!)

Sketching Faces

...in my journal.

Pencil sketch on decorative papers...in my journal. Unfinished page...

One thing I really want to do more of in 2014 is draw.
Inspired always by Julie Balzer's faces,
I want to sketch and practice painting portraits.

Not exactly a Resolution,
but a fun promise to myself
to do more of what I love.

Still awaiting the arrival of a new baby
in the family...perhaps for New Year's Eve?!
...

Don't you just LOVE the days between
Christmas and New Year's?
I feel relaxed and happy
to have free time.

Hope you do, too.

A Sketch...and Summer of Color3 Week #4!

Kristin's Summer of Color SOC3 is already into week #4!

This week's color combination is
Charcoal Gray and Pink.

I have been wanting to practice drawing, drawing, drawing
and sketching faces.
Here, I wanted to try my hand at sketching a face at an angle,
for interest and a change.

I took a piece of pretty pink background paper, and my pencils...
and here is what's going on so far.

I say "so far" because I may do more with it,
such as glue it in my art journal... write on it,
add to itYou know...

Have a creative day!
