This Weekend's Big Birthdays

Columbus Day Weekend has been a time of big milestone birthdays for our family! Saturday marked the 90th birthday of my uncle and godfather. He's amazing, and so was the beautiful, special cake that was ordered for him, for his restaurant celebration:

It looked like a giant cupcake!

I am not that talented...nor that kind (haha), so....I made a cake for my brother's 50th birthday party on Sunday. Here it is, in all of it's GRIM Spookiness!
Don't worry, Jim ("Hime") will get back at me in due time! Afterall, he's the brother that dressed up as the grim reaper for my 40th...and was terrifying. :D

The cake you made Jim is fabulous.
Not only did it fill your tummies, but I'm sure made everyone laugh!
I would have liked a piece of either cake!!!

K, you're so talented. That illuminated grim reaper cake spooks me out! Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. You have the world's most noble/toughest job as a teacher. And you get to enrich beautiful young souls. Don't let a parent's comment undermine who you are!
