Sunrise:: Journaling

 I think I mentioned a ways back
that I drive east in the morning
toward a sunrise
and I drive west, back home after work,
at sunset
this time of year.

Sometimes I bring my camera
and pull over on the side of a country road
to photograph
the incredible beauty.

Yesterday I saw this layering of color
in the sunrise
and instead of using my camera
I held it in my heart and in my memory.
I promised myself I would create
in my journal
with
these colors, and
in the same surprise order they really were.

It really is an amazing gift, this sky of ours.

This background was done with pastels.

Sorry I haven't been around much these past two weeks.
I am trying to catch up
and I think of you, friends.

Pssst, I am helping to create a fun and memorable
baby shower for my daughter, the mama-to-be!

(Ooooh, I felt my granddaughter-to-be
kick for the first time!
She kicked when I sang:
"I love you a bushel and a peck,
and a hug around the neck." )

Hold the love and beauty in your heart.

Thanks for visiting,
~k

Such gorgeous colours! I love the way the sky is newly painted every single day. Some of the sunsets over the sea here in Adelaide are incredible - so many colours and then the reflections as well. Just beautiful.

what a lovely post. Your sunset page is incredibly beautiful. I love the "amazing grace" at the end of the page. How exciting to feel your granddaughter's kick for the first time. I know you're going to have so much fun planning the shower and awaiting the sweet arrival of your granddaughter.

I don't know if you have other grandchildren or if this will be your first, but either way it is wondrous to feel them kick that first time. I only have one daughter and one granddaughter (who will be 4 next month) and it seems just yesterday that I first got to feel that little lump that was a foot or a fist.

I love how you captured the beautiful colors of nature in your heart and made such a gorgeous page. So much more creative than a photo. Being a grandma is the most amazing blessing ever...
