Learning

I am at a point in my life
when I am discovering
and learning
so much

...about a lot of things
and about Life

and about myself

I guess I wasn't ready to learn it earlier
but at least I am open now
and am forgiving myself.

I am meant to be
me
and I am enough.

I just want to learn more.
It is all so miraculous, this life.

...
Thank you for visiting
and for sharing in my granddaughter love & joy.

Journaling Pages & Spreads from Nature's Inspiration

The page above was inspired by today's walk.
I LOVE this warm autumn weather.
I can enjoy the leaves!

Below: I don't think I showed you
this whole collage spread before.

...nor this finished one, from August, below:

This one is from a few days ago:

My time outdoors
is my time for quiet and
for gratitude.

This 3-day weekend
I am all alone
and I have time to rest,
create,
clean,
catch up,
organize,
re-energize,
connect.

It is good.

So, yeah...

Lots of thoughts
lots of layers
two or three days or so
of paint and handmade stamps
and such

Sorting out some of the layers in my mind and in my heart

But then there is the peace from nature~
beautiful, beautiful hydrangeas
always in layers of color and blossom...
no matter the season

and I keep learning
'cause that's really what I like

and I am so grateful
even for the stuff that I thought was impossible.

I see that now.

oh, Summertime...

Though I went to work yesterday for a workshop,
today and tomorrow
I still have summer vacation...so, I am

journaling softly,

napping happily,

 reading,

 listening to the Silence,

 and watching my flowers grow.

oh, and watching the Corn Moon, Full Moon.
Hope you caught it too.

Dear August,

You are going quickly, too quickly for me
but I am grateful for you.
Allow me to strengthen and prepare for the school year
to come...

and still soak up your light...
for a couple more days...

{sigh}

PS. Thank you so much for your Grama Congrats!!!
Yes, to  bring another sweet Capricorn Girl
into the world is pretty cool...ha!

Love,
kath

Me and my Journal...in Progress

Above, the completed journal page.

But below is how it began,
in my Strathmore Hardcover mixed Media Journal,
 size 9" X 12".

~a vintage
Fairy tale book's table of contents, top left corner,
vintage ledger book, top right corner,
and
vintage sheet music,
with 3 tickets glued on the bottom.

I then scraped gesso about...

Next, craft paints in aquas, and
white acrylic paint-dipped & recycled
scotch tape roll (love them!) for the circles/bubbles:

The silhouettes you see collaged at the bottom
 of my completed page,
are handmade, too. I traced a few
magazine model bodies
onto various papers
and cut them out with scissors.
(I sometimes use them for masks, to spray around).

Some stamping "Be You",
and my journaling with just a ball point black pen.

Here is a close-up of the bottom.
Thank you for looking!

Thank you for sharing art journaling with me,
and for sharing your comments,
which keep me inspired,
and make me really happy.

Layers. Colors. Text. Release.

Gesso, acrylic paints, paint-stamped feathers

Sharpie Fine Point for hand drawn vines

White Sharpie Paint Marker for Background
Text. Black Sharpie Fine Point pen for text vines.

Gray  Momento Dual Marker text edges.
Molotow Paint Marker in Sahara Beige for over text.

I held everything inside all week,
and I think it all poured out in
 layers this morning.

I may even add smaller written thoughts, in a deeper color,
over top...

It feels good to pour my thoughts out onto pages.
A clearing of the mind!

Unfinished Journal Spread

Hope these cold January days find you in good health.

I doodled a bit but have so many thoughts and feelings and words
that I can't seem to focus them and have them take form...yet.

May you find beauty in each new day.

I am grateful for new days.

Trusting

When things are more difficult than I think they should be
 or could be...

I am remembering
 to

trust.
